'Working most of her artistic life in Cranborne Chase in her native Dorset, Ursula Leach's visual sensibilities have been quite unmistakably fashioned not only by the clear open shapes of that rolling landscape but also by the equally inescapable changes wrought upon it by the hand of man, in the form of intense agribusiness.... Leach has evolved a spare but nonetheless sharply observed abstract painterly language through which both to explore and disclose the essential character of these interactions and, as her (work) consistently makes clear, these are not just elegant syntheses of landscape forms but subtle commentaries on them as well.'
