Charlie Baird

The Art Stable is delighted to be presenting our fourth solo exhibition of paintings by Charlie Baird. In his new work Charlie continues to explore light, atmosphere and form, drawing from different media and building up mosaics of paint and colour as he searches for the essence of a passing moment.

The new exhibition will include works which echo the landscape of the Hebrides, Southern Spain and Dorset, where Charlie has lived for the last fifteen years.

Born in Nairn, Scotland in 1955, Charlie Baird studied at the Instituto Allende, San Miguel, Mexico and Wimbledon School of Art, London. From 1983-85 he attended the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. Since his first solo exhibition at the Crane Kalman Gallery in 1977, he has had solo exhibitions in London, Europe and America. For the last ten years he has lived in Dorset, the landscape of which informs much of his work.
